I have a nine month old Maltese puppy and if it isn't stainless steel and two inches think, she's going to try to eat it. I have a 5 year old poodle and he has never chewed anything. Go figure. They're all different. I'm using prayer to get help to make her stop!

We have a 13 month Jack Russell that will eat anything, his dish, the steps, the door frame, his bed pillow, anything in the yard. When it got so cold here last week DH spent $22 on an eletric blanket. I think it lasted 3 days. Now their bed is fabric scraps.

Three days? You did well! Sounds like he's learning (ha,ha). But we love them anyway!

I wasn't sure who your question was directed to. The first bed I made them was just 2 very large pieces of fabric sewen into a sack. For some reason I put a zipper in it. Broomer chewed the zipper open in no time. Whipped stitched it shut. He still ate the bed. We had filled it with cedar shaving to control the fleas. This time DH just put the wad of scraps in their dog house. They are slowly dragging them out unto the porch.

I got our big outside dog a big dog pillow - made out of heavy fabric and the 1st night he chewed the corners off. I put cheap blankets in his bed - he threw up strips of blanket and strips came out the other end also. Looked he had cut the blanket into strips. The only thing he won't chew is thin mats used to wipe your feet on with black rubber coating on back. I also in the last year or so got him some rubber backed kitchen mats. I wanted something soft but, I guess he didn't.

Our youngest Jack Russel loves to chew the black rubber mats. Haven't found anything yet the dog won't chew up. He's 13 months. When is he going to quit?

Our two dogs have frame beds with slip on covers which I make out of curtain material (the heavy kind with the sunblock backing). They don't seem to chew on it and it is easy to wash and dry quickly (somewhat water repellant).
