What brand of eyelet/prong pliers do you have?
I want to buy a pair, but i want a good one that will last.
I have seen older ones where the plastic has gotten brittle and
cracked or fell off the end where you squeeze the snaps together.
Do they make an all metal one??

I don't know about an all metal one, the original pliers were probably all metal, but the plastic probably came into being to save money and keep them affordable. I have about four of them, I am not sure where my original one is, but when I see them at flea markets for $1, I usually go ahead and purchase them, just in case, for backup.

Have you tried Google? I see Dritz, General Tools and Bead Smith. You might also try a Home Depot, Lowe's or Ace Hardware. If you are lucky to have one, feed stores.
