drivers ... be careful
#1
I just got off the phone with one of my daughters. She was still shaken, but okay. Seems like she was driving (with her two small children) when a car from the opposite direction came into her lane ... not just a little, but head on. My daughter managed to get out of the way, but almost flipped her car in the process. By the grace of God, she and the children were unharmed physically nor was the woman driving the other vehicle. After everyone was determined to be okay, the driver said she was just reaching down for something and took her eyes of the road "for just a minute" ...
Like I wrote, by the grace of God ...

I am so glad that everyone involved was okay. It just takes a second for something horrific to happen. All drivers need to remember that! My son's best man was killed in an accident very similar to this 2 months before his wedding and it sure put a damper on the festivities.

I can't tell you how often I have had cars cross the center line on me when riding my motorcycle!! It happens a LOT. I won't ride in near the center line any more, too many close calls. I have been riding a motorcycle for over 25 years and I have noticed a marked increase in "lane drifting" in just the past couple of years. I don't know if it is a whole new generation of inattentive drivers hitting the road or all the electronic gadgets and emphasis on multi-tasking that is causing it. I really think it is the latter. And passing laws on no cell phone usage unless it is hands free doesn't mean squat. NY has such a law and I see countless people EVERY DAY with cell phone to ear on my daily commute.

That just happen near us four 18 year old young men from Indianna were killed in Chilton County Al. They were killed in a car accident that was no fault of their own. Someone crossed the median, striking them head on and killing them. The other driver was killed as well.
I am glad you daughter and grandchildren were OK.
It's not how you drive you have to worry more about how others are driving.

Its great that you and yours are OK. I saw a guy get onto a 4 lane the other day on the wrong side of the road. I was past and didn't see if he caused a wreak, but you always have to assume stupity on other drivers, because sure enough they will live up to the title, and if you're not careful, you may be the other guy.
