Just hearing on the news here in UK about the terrible gas explosion in an area near San Fran Airport. The pictures of the devastation are frightening. Our thoughts are with you all.

I live in the SF Bay Area, but nowhere near the explosion. I am about 45 miles East. Yes, it is devastating...53 homes destroyed and another 102 damaged as of 11 pm. Fortunately, there has only been one death reported. It could have been much worse. I am suprised you are hearing about it in the UK. Thank you for the concerns for our San Francisco neighbors.

It is one of the main headlines here. My sister lives in Los Altos just south of San Fran. so listened intently when I first heard it!!

My neighbor is a Daly City fire fighter and has been fighting the blaze all night. His crew was able to save 2 homes next to 2 that burned to the ground. How sad. BTW..Small world...my MIL lives in Los Altos.
