You're welcome. We have to keep these things going right. So many people were making this that walmart started putting the products together on their shelves. Btw, fels-naptha is the other bar of soap you can use if you can't find zote.
I always heard not to use vaseline on the skin, also.

This is one I really like and does not call for Vaseline .
1-4 ounce (Fruit of the Earth) Vitamin E skin cream (Comes in a package of 2 at Walmart)
1-4 ounce Coconut Oil (Lu Ana 30 oz.) at Walmart
1- 8 ounce baby lotion (Baby Magic 30 oz.) at Walmart
All the above ingredients makes 2 batches

Directions: Put Vitamin E oil and lotion in large mixing bowl, melt the Coconut oil and add to other ingredients, mix with a hand mixer until well mixed. Put in air tight containers.

I make the laundry soap also. We love it.
As for facial products I only use organic and I make my own. Check the labels on anything you buy. It's horrifying!

Yes, it is horrifying. The biggest problem, I've found, is keeping homemade products from going bad. That's probably why products have so many additives, to give a longer shelf life.

Jaiade- as long as you don't use water in your products they will keep for quite awhile. There are some great recipes online for face and body products. I make all my own for my sister and me. My skin has never looked better and I use only natural ingredients.

I saw some plastic containers for freezer jam today in Walmart where the Jelly jars are. I bought Glad small snack size containers with lids and they hold 1 and 1/8 cups. I have some jelly jars but did not want to use the glass. I don't know why but it could be dangerous in the bath room just like a a glass type of glass used in bath room.

I haven't seen a can of Crisco in many years. It sure made good piecrusts. How I miss the South.

For those of you searching for small containers for your home made toiletries, take a look at MountainRoseHerbs.com. Sometimes they have sales. They also have tutorials for making your own skin care products, or as in the case of Susun Weed, your own herbal infusions for good health.

Crisco comes in sticks. It is in the baking department. There may still be cans but I don't see them around where I shop
