I think Nick ~ or Old Nick ~ is another name for the devil, and I suppose his hat would be black.

My favorites are
"Every day's an adventure" and, with a chuckle, "Cheese it! The cops!!!"

In regards to temps?

Colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra...
Colder than a well digger's a$$...
Hotter than a two dollar pistol...
Hot enough to fry eggs on the sidewalk...

"Everyone to his own taste, said the old lady as she kissed a cow". (my Mom used to say this)

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE OLD SAYING?

An old favorite of mine to say is "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face".
Sweep your own doorstep before you try & sweep others!

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!
I love these, I have heard most all of the sayings growing up, as my dad was navy. God bless. Penny
