Glass etching is awesome. They sell the materials to do glass etching at Michaels and A.C. Moores.

i would also advertise that people could use it as a wedding shower gift, maybe making one and filling it with some wedding shower items/housewarming items to show people how they could jazz it up as a gift.

$20 is a great price and if people want to kick in more $$$, they can.

Check out the dollar stores. They may have the glass pans and lids.

If it goes well for the fundraiser, you could try selling them on Ebay - and buy the glassware wholesale next time.

I love your idea and would buy one if I was closer! I think Iclang had a good idea about checking into sources for a wholesale price - maybe restaurant supply places.

I think $20 is a GREAT price. Others have suggested other sources for glass pans, but I would make sure they're Pyrex. I love every Pyrex brand pan or bowl I've ever owned -- many of them decades old now. Since you're going to the trouble to etch a keepsake, it should go on something worth keeping through the years. Just my two cents.

I have heard that scratches on glass bakeware makes it more prone To exploding.

Don't know what you are planning to do, but I would be wary of anything that might compromise the glass.
