So sorry... and it has to make it harder when you are so excited to get going again . Knowing that the grandbabies are growing more every day and so close, yet so far away .

Wish I had more suggestions for you .

Well, hubs THINKS we are going to visit his sister in Lawrence, but I told him that if she wants to see us, she can come here. We've traveled enough and if he goes, he goes ALONE. I will pack the van and take the cats and Courtney to VA and he can join us.
Not playing the game that WE can go visit all the time and they DO NOT! It's the same roads for them to travel and the same amount of money. His family can spend THEIR money for once.

    They are 3 hours north.
I know why she wants us to visit. There's a concert going on, one that we wouldn't be interested in and she wants a FREE babysitter. Sorry, NOT happening!
I don't babysit unless it's a medical emergency and/or I gave birth to you or gave birth to you and it's something that you gave birth to.
So, since I did neither to either her or her kids, sorry, not happening.

Are there any really good quilt shops near her ? Tell Hubby it will cost him  LOL and part of the deal is you either get there and are gone before the concert or you get there after the concert, but your visit will not be during that time frame

Nope, not even going to make that deal with him.
I'm sticking to my guns. If they want to visit, then they come here to us by Thursday. I told Bill that we are outta here on Friday morning whether he is ready to go or not. I can actually only handle about 3 days here, then I'm ready to go bonkers. I'm about there now. In laws have put new carpet in their house, so there is only one chair to sit in in the living room and if you want a place to sit, you have to either sit on the floor or sit at the dining table.
The poor cats are out in the small house that is being renovated with very little heat. Poor Big Boy isn't eating. His ears are so cold and we have put a heater out there, but it's not working too well.
    I'm just ready to leave........

Ok, I'm off to bed to smack Bill a few times just for the hell of it. lol

every hour visiting where you really don't want to visit is an hour longer before holding O & D.......

maybe a reminder of that to someone......will get you on the road a bit sooner...

    just a thought !!!!!!!!!!

I agree with sewjoyce....for whatever reason that Mama is mad or unhappy....reeks havoc on the household. My DH learned that early on and its been his motto for years..
