Well, at least you enjoyed a walk on the beach and "real" food! Wish your home hunt could go a little quicker, but just think...whew! You are back stateside, soon you WILL have somewhere to live and Bill is that much closer to retirement and you won't have to go through this but maybe 1 more time???

*Now running for my life...ouch!!! Those shoes hurt!!! Quit throwing them!*

Sounds like maybe ya'll ended up at Cape Charles. It's a beautiful place and they are really fixing it up. Haven't been there in about 5 years so I can only imagine but I do remember how sweet the beach is there!

I will bring your packages to you as I get back home and you are ready for them. I'm hoping when the doctor uses the scope on mom's heart this week it will break up any blockage like it did five years ago.

I have a friend that lives in Virginia Beach, he was talking about selling his house. Want me to contact him and see if he is ready yet? Big house with pool. Let me know.
    Love ya

Terri- do you just want to rent? Or buy? You can go online and find HUD houses- foreclosed homes. I just did some docs for a lady that bought a house for $50K. She found it through an online auction of foreclosures.

I often search real estate in that area. Someday I would like to retire there. Wish I had bought a house we saw for sale in '95. It is worth 4 times as much now. Darn- raising kids always has to come first.

Glad to hear you've finally made it 'home.'
I remember the Chesapeke Bay bridge well. We drove from CT to VA Beach several times while our son was stationed at Oceana. He lived in VA Beach. Find Chick's Place - a dive with great oysters, crabs, beer etc - cheap & great. I'll get directions from my son.

I'm thinking I'm going to pitch a tent.
The person that has the condo that was mentioned to us, we can't get in touch with. The condo would be P E R F E C T ! !
Other than that, can't find anything that isn't a 40+min drive for Bill. Still looking.

Yes, it was Cape Charles. Cute little town.

Sharon...just let me know when you are back...I'll come down for the day or maybe 2? We can have a sleepover/pajama party. :)
We are wanting to rent, not buy. With VA being a Commonwealth state and listening to the horror stories that friends have gone thru with buying and all, we are not going to do that. Plus, Bill has no idea what he wants to be when he grows up and the housing market for selling is not moving much.

Any luck getting in touch with the priest ? Maybe he can help you get in touch with the people in the condo ? Wonder if there is a reason they don't want you to see the place ?
