I have never put a perm. color on my hair. When I was 18 I did put a dark rinse on, Hated it and never touched my hair with color again. I have a tad of gray at the temples and a few in my bangs. A little at the crown. My hairdresser said Don't do anything there is not enough to matter it just looks like the sun may have lightened it a little. So my hair color is God given I will be 66 the 22nd of this month. So not bad at all.

People used to ask me where I got my hair frosted. Now it is solid silver, I'm 52. I love my hair (the color) but it is also stick straight except for the cowlick on my forehead. Bangs always lie goofy on me. I can't keep any kind of curl but for a minute. I've always said I'm going to revert to my indian ways and wear it long and braided like my grandmother did.
Hi Purplemem, I also have a crazy cowlick in my Bangs on the right side. Used to part my hair on the right when side bangs were the rage when I was abt 14. I hated that cowlick. I kept my hair curled because of it. now I don't care. I have learned how to make it behave with the stuff they now have on the market but it still will flip out when I am not looking.

My theory on cowlicks: God has given you so much character that some of it had to go to your hair so that the character wasn't popping out of you all the time. I have 2: one is the Alfalfa spot and the other is in my bangs.

Only once did I reach back to 'flip' my hair and remembered it was cut. Otherwise I don't miss it at all! I love it short. In fact I just cut it again this morning. One of the pitfalls or advantages of being able to cut my own hair --- I trim it often.
