GRAY HAIR..................OR NOT??
#22
I began finding greys at age 23. I'm very chemically sensitive and so have always avoided color treatments but last summer found some at a natural foods store that were completely herbal. I gave it a go and liked the results. Yea! I wasn't going to be an old looking mom when my son began Kindergarten! But between doing the math ($15/month=$180/year) and carving out time to keep it up, I decided it wasn't worth it. BTW, I'm 37 now and will stay au naturel.

Honey, if mine was pure white, I'd love it. I'm gray around the face by my temples, some in front & sprinkled on sides & back, just enough to make it look yukky (to me anyway). My grand kids loved it when I went Purple, do you know the almost Neon purple & Neon orange/red. Since I originally had almost black hair, the orange/red was out. That was only a phase.

My gray is the ugly old gray (mangy rat not silver fox), so heck yeah, I color. I give my hairdresser free reign of what she wants to do. Except for about 10 years ago when I insisted on becoming a blond. I was blond alright and looked like Big Bird. Slowest color to ever grow out.

Well, i always had nice shoulder length hair. I got my first grey hair at 16 lol. But i decided i was never going to colour my hair, i wanted natural. By 40 i had beautiful salt and pepper hair, but by 45, it turned so white, but not just white, but the grey hair was very very coarse and dry, and the long grey hair looked ugly. So i decided for first time in life to go with short hair, that short grey hair would be nice lol, NOT. I did the short white hair for 5 years, and two years ago decided to colour it and grow it long again. For me, the grey hair whitewashed my face. But the real surprise was this. When i coloured my hair, i thought it would make it more dry and brittle, but the opposite happened. Every time i colour my hair it gets so soft, it's the texture it used to be before it was grey. I thought it would be a hastle and costly, but it only costs me 5 dollars, and i do it every 2 months, and only takes a few mins. So here's a picture of my short grey hair, doesnt look too bad, but was making me feel really old, and i just feel so much better now lol. For the record, i love grey hair, and thought i would love mine forever lol, but i guess things change :) The picture down below is age 48, and the picture in my avatar is age 50, two years ago

I am letting it to. I am 48 and decided to stop coloring. My hair naturally is a dark ash blonde so now it looks about 25% lighter those marvelous grays act like an instant highlighter. Its not who I am its only hair. I earned every single one of those gray hairs. I had to laugh at the color it so the little one wouldnt think you were old. My own children taught me they all think we are OLD next to them. At 30 yrs old my 6 yr old son asked me if they had cars back when I was a kid (I was born in 1961). My daughter asked me when I was 34 and she was about 5.. Momma am I going to have a fuzzy face when I grow OLD LIKE YOU? Marvelous. So you are OLD off the starting line with someone who is only a handful of years.
