Uh....at dinner, son says, "Hey dad, guess what I did today!" all smiles.

What? Is dad going to be mad that son is a genius?

Well, it seems to me that he must support your sewing or he wouldn't have been so eager to find you a replacement. I wouldn't feel bad about telling him. Just say your son is a genius! He fixed my Viking, now I will have a backup machine...Aren't you proud of our son, honey?>?????

Sure, tell him. If you get any static, you can remind him:
- if he ever couldn't repair one of the cars and had to take it to the shop (it's happened at our house)
- if he has more than one car and how that came about
- that a backup machine is a necessity when you consider repair times and the down time that is so unproductive

Guess we could come up with more thoughts, but bet you won't need them!

Definitely no reason for divorce... not to worry! You were innocent!!! And of course, you have a machine for when it happens again....

Be sure to lavish him with praise for his thoughfulness in getting you a machine before telling him about the other one. Then tell him- by we must have both been really tired that night.

I agree! Your husband did look at it first. I would say how proud you are that your son fixed it for you.

Yes, you should tell him but if he does get upset remind him that he did look at it and he found the Kenmore for you. It is always nice to have a backup (or two) machine. Enjoy!
