I was a part of the first group of teens to have designer jeans...late 70s, early 80s. Considering, back then, my parents were forking out $60-80 a pair for them 30 years ago, $179 seems about right. My own teen daughters are quite happy with similar jeans from Urban Planet for between $20-30 a pair, so I'm good with that. LOL

The other day a pt told me she had to buy $150 dollar jeans cause she couldn't find any that fit for less. OK, I am not surprised by this kind of nonsense from a kid, but from a seventy year old woman!

I still think people should "earn" that worn out look in jeans.

When I was growing up, I/we had so few new - or new-looking things - that I just want a new garment to look new.

I don't get buying that worn out look, either.

My poor father would be coming unglued if he were still with us. He hated seeing a woman in jeans and I can just imagine his comments with the "new" worn look. It was bad enough to hear his comments on the truly new jeans. Guess it went back to when he was a child and they had so little to live on. He would be a riot with comments about the new holey jeans!

I know what you mean--my Dad hated jeans on women or anyone for that matter for years and years. It was a big step when he started wearing jeans himself in the late 1980s.

I have a hard time finding jeans that aren't "faded and worn out". I keep looking for the new dark blue denim jeans. Scarce! I also refuse to pay $30-$40+ for them. Goodwill here sells jeans for about $10 and they're faded, worn and sometimes shredded.

Wow, our Goodwills sell jeans for 99 cents every other Saturday when they have their 50% off everything sales. We are lucky in this part of the country!
