Has anyone else been watching that Craft Wars show?

I couldn't keep watching after the first few minutes. Too bad cause it had the potential to be interesting. But then I don't like the cooking shows where the food to be cooked is off the hook and the judges can be just plain mean.

I watched about half of the firs and have seen the end of the third one -- the challenges are really crazy and the results looked to be awful. What a waste of time. I had high hopes but I guess being outrageous with awful judged is suppose to be great.

I watched 1 show or at least kept the tv on for the show. I thought it got boring very quickly - not enough crafting and too much talking, griping, whining, etc. I had planned on giving it 1 more try but just don't seem to have the slightest inclination to do so. I'd rather look at the internet, or a book or magazine and get some usable ideas.

I was excited too that there finally was a show for crafters but after viewing a little, off it went. I agree with everyone! It was kind of stupid. The results were horrible. True crafters (like us) would never create such monsters. Didn't like it at all. I miss the quilting shows that used to be on tv (the Carol Duvall Show & others), a real craft show. All I get now (Sat am) is Sewing with Nancy & 1 more.

I, too, was excited when I first heard about this show - then saw a trailer of it, & read the synopsis on the guide & passed - lol. I do like some of the cooking shows, though. There are a lot of things we would never eat, but sometimes we do get ideas on new ways to prepare things we like, & techniques we can use.
about once a month we try to fix something new - either new ingredient or new preparation method.

While I was flipping channels, I ran across it. It was in the middle of an episode, so I was kind of lost for a minute. I watched for a couple of minutes, then by eyes crossed and I was done. BORING! I agree that the challenges are stupid and no real skills are shown. It reminds me of a VBS project ( not putting down VBS, I love it, even now) but materials and projects for young kids (with supervision). Maybe some good ideas for someone teaching art to elementary age students or home school.
