It does have a distinctly different taste, but it has protein. I mix mine with my cereal instead of milk and it truly holds me from breakfast until lunch time. More filling and not so "desert" tasting as regular yogurt. There is a BIG difference in taste between brands. I like the Dannon greek yogurt best, but the flavors are limited, so usually get Chiobani. Costco and BJs both carry the 12 pack for $11 something, which is much cheaper than the supermarket unless they have it 10/$10, which is rare.

I love greek yogurt. I just finished eating it for breakfast. I chop some fresh fruit. Top it with some greek yogurt and a little splenda. Sprinkle some fiber one cereal on that. My favorite breakfast. YUM! Almost like desert.THe Dannon and Yoplait brand are my least favorite. I like pretty much all the other brands. My favorite to cook with is Fage. It is more expensive. I used to make my own I need to get back to that.

Greek yogurt just has more of the water removed. You can make it at home, if you like. Not hard at all. Here is how to do it:

Of the commercial brands I love Fage with honey the best. It is a LOT more expensive, but IMHO the best. The others just don't taste the same especially if they have the honey mixed in already. Fage has a separate compartment for it. They have coupons available now on their website.

I love the Fage brand. It only comes in plain in our store but I add Xylitol and it is thick and yummy. A little liquid collects each time and I pour that off and it makes it twice as thick as you get further down the container. I can make a two-serving container last a week as it is so rich. More expensive, better bacteria count but worth every penny.
