DH had one. He lied to the nurse and told her he had passed gas so she let him have a cup of coffee and then leave. Boy did he suffer when he got home.
If dog food smells good............ick.

I had one about 4 weeks ago and couldn't start the cleaning out until 7 at night. That was too late to start and next time I will do it earlier. When it was over I found myself in a chair in the recovery room and don't remember how I got there. LOL

I had my first one last year and the PREP WAS NOT BAD!!!
I've had worse stomaches before. Prepare 'your room' for a few hour visit and get up and walk around in between ... don't just sit there. Luckily my bathroom is in the master bedroom. I shut the door, turned on the tv and got the business done!

I think a lot of it is your frame of mind. I can think of a lot of terrible things I'd rather not go through than simply cleaning out the colon. Heck - the 2 days of no solid food was worse for me cause I'm a 'grazer' when I eat.

LOVED the part where I could sleep off the anathesia for the rest of the day!

Good luck to all!

That's where they only go as far as the sigmoid (sp). They go up much further for a colonoscopy. You're usually awake for the sigmoidoscopy and that's very uncomfortable since your body is used to letting air out, but they're pushing air in so they can see around in there.

Marsye, are you gonna make your shrimp scampi for dinner tonight?
