when other half (refuse to say he is better half)goes out of town I too get kind of giddy. I sometimes even take off work just so I can enjoy the full effect of having my alone time.

As much as I love my husband and kids - I like it, too, when they are gone for a bit. Tried to get my boys to go camping next week with the church - they wanted nothing to do with it... Oh well... one is gone today and I really have nothing else to do - but quilt!! :)

I enjoy my quilting time. But DH works 12+ hours a day, so I get my time every day. No kids, only the animals to care for. I look forward to the end of the day, when I have someome to talk to...

I'd love it! Unfortunately, there's a state between us!

A spouse is not suppose to come attached to the hip! I wouldn't be very happy if DH was up my butt every day all day. I plan trips every few months just for me. I go to quilt shows or just a weekend get away to sight see or window shop. DH hates to travel so he rarely says I'll go with you and I do ask him if he would like to come, knowing the answer is no if I'm going to a quilt show. He goes on hunting trips and has his woodworking hobby. We are perfectly matched. We love our independence and love each other.

I really enjoy my time alone! Like was mentioned before - they just don't get it. We love them to death, but separate time is so wonderful. Mine would love to be with me 24/7 (we were for 5 years living and working together on the road).
I now cherish my time when he is working and I have a day or 2 off!
Enjoy your time!

I know the feeling exactly. I hate being in the middle of something quilt related and all of a sudden it's official "dinner time" on Saturday in the household and I have to stop what I'm doing. If I was alone, I'd just munch on a pop-tart or two. But hubby likes his real dinners. Soon enough, he'll be golfing more because the days are getting longer and staying out of my way a bit more! Let us all know how much you accomplish 'home alone' this weekend.
