I know exactly how you feel. I don't work so I do have my time during the day, but having to stop to do laundry, very little housework, and meals when I remember, isn't the same as the weekends that my DH has to be on call and is gone. I absolutely LOVE it and the times when he calls during the day and says he'll be home late and don't worry about fixing dinner, What dinner, teehee! I can keep myself entertained is what I tell him all the time. I LOVE him dearly and we've been together over 27+ yrs., but I also love my alone time too! I get sooo much more accomplished when I don't have to stop and start to do something else.

I would absolutely love a weekend alone.... All the quilting I could get done.

After a long day at work I love to retire to my quilting room and just putter or work on a project. Never fails, my husband will follow me up to the room and then want to talk.(He works from the home) All I want is about one hour of quiet solitude to unwind.

I surely envy you.

all of us here "get the alone thing". As a matter of fact I am totally jealous of you! Instead of getting alone time....next week is March break here and DH is only working part time, so you know how much alone time that I'll be getting.

'Glad to hear that I'm in such good company. I thought I was the only one to get so excited about being home alone. DH goes ona fishing trip 4 times a year for about 10 days at a time. I prepare by getting the house really clean, stocking up on foods that I like and can fix quickly. Then I make sure my sewing room is in perfect order. When he leaves, it's straight up stairs to work non-stop for 10 days. I agree that it's like a mini retreat just for me!
'Got one coming up next week. WooHoo!

Oh I am so jealous, I work with my husband so when he goes out of town I am usually with him. He just doesn't understand why I say between work and kids and animals I just want some time alone. I'd settle for a hour.

I am so lucky! Hubby is a stamp collector and has an office in the Okla. Methodist conference. Both of these things keeps him busy and in his little office! I, on the other hand have a great quilt room at the other end of the house. I can be in there for 8 hours at a time or longer and he will come in to see what I want for lunch or snack, or just to check in. Sometimes he sits and visits awhile and sometimes it is bed time before I know it. He is a jewel and enjoys fabric shopping with me and will go to any quilt shop!!! Guess I will keep him!

My DH is the same way. He says "I just hate leaving you home all alone", I'm thinking YES!!! I love my alone time and he will never understand it. When he goes, I tell him I will miss him soooo much, then smile and skip all the way back to the sewing room!! Yes, we love each other very much, but I agree that I don't want to be joined at the hip.
