CONGRATULATIONS!!! Just had my six-year anniversary in January. Believe me the first year is the hardest to get through even without all the stress you had in addition. There are still times I really, really want a cigarette (especially with the weight gain I've had since I quit), but don't want to smell like that, have that awful after taste in my mouth and I definitely don't want to waste that kind of money.

Congratulations from a fellow quitter!! I've gone far longer than a year now but I remember those days. Great job!

I have to say that it is harder when your spouse smokes. My DH still has not quit and while it use to just make me want one, now the smell is really starting to bother me. I think it's because my sense of smell has gotten SO STRONG. I smell things that others can't even smell. When he comes in from smoking outside I really hate it. I hope he can stop soon. :D

Good for you for quitting! And I hope hubby does sometimes soon. My 38 year DDIL had a heart attack 3 weeks ago and needs to stop smoking but hasn't yet!

Congratulations. I know what you mean. I have been quit for 1 year 2 months today. I wonder if the desire to smoke will ever go away?

Congratulations! I had my 1 yr anniversary as a non smoker in November. I smoked for 35 years and still can't believe that I did it. My DH and I both quit on the same day, we didn't plan it just woke up one morning and I said to him I want to quit smoking he we both agreed why wait, and we just did it and never looked back. I love being free from that horible addiction!
