My old cat use to sit behind me on the chair since I never sit back in it. The 2 I have now, could care less if I'm on the computer...until I print something, then both of them are there checking it out and wanting the printouts.

I made a pouch that goes over my shoulder from an old sweatshirt to hold one of my Chihuahuas. Not too attractive but it works. She sleeps happily while I type, do dishes etc. Sometimes I think she only loves me because I'm warm.

I bought a new desk that was wide enough to hold my monitor but leave enough room for my cat to lie down in front of me.

My little kitten gets in front of the monitor and tries to catch the cursor on the screen. Right now she's sleeping behind my back on the chair - I think she got cold!

I usually have to type with a rat terrier in my lap. OK as long as she doesn't move around too much

I generally have to contend with only two of my three cats. One insists on sleeping on top of the printer/scanner, effectively postponing any scanning I need to do. I do, however, get a dirty look if I print something while she's napping.

No. 3 cat (see my avatar) is a huge, massive, heavy, ultra-fluffy monster mama's boy who thinks he must be held like a baby in order to get any quality sleep. So I sit at the computer, one aching arm full of furry deadweight and I mouse around with the other. This lasts until I can't bear it any longer when I move him up onto the desk next to my laptop. He'll stay for a while and then go off to find the closest basket of clean laundry.

Sometimes I marvel at how tightly wrapped around their little furry fingers I've become. LOL!

Loved reading about all your kitty antics, they all love company and comfort.. My two little dogs are usually on my knee when I sit with my laptop also perched on my knee, thankfully it's netbook so I can hold it in my hands, and work away. They all know mommy is a soft touch !! :)

i am not making this up ... cross my heart.

many years ago i rescued a kitten. i think she was part bird and considered me her personal perch.

she would climb onto the top of my head!

she was reluctant to accept her new reality once she got too big for that to work.

from that point on, anytime i sat still, i was draped in a kitty scarf around my neck or over my shoulder.

Honestly, I wouldn't know how to work at my computer without a cat in my lap, one on my desk and my dog under the desk! :-D
