Guys, guys, guys, you just don't get it! Those are HOUSE cats. They eat canned cat food and people food! If you tell them they are supposed to catch those things, that they are prey, the poor kitties will look at you in HORROR!

"Eat THAT?????? Mooooommmy, that's just GROSS! Ewwwwwwww. Gag me with a spoon!"

Or even "Hey, I'm not going after anything that bites back! Not me, no siree bob! Did you know they have TEETH?"

Hope Nemo is okay.....My kitty likes to drink out of the toilets, too.

My daughter lives across the street from an Amish farm. You can guess what visits them every time the fields get plowed!

    New cat - no use!

But they were able to catch every one of the uninvited guests using those "human mouse trap" things with the sticky paper... She put peanut butter on some, bacon on some and placed them where the cat couldn't go... Problem was deciding "who" had to empty the traps.

    Good hunting.

Seems like we all have some of these "slackers"...3 of the 4 in the house do go outside...and they DO hunt out there!...I have 1 in the house that will slap spiders to death, but thats about it.

We do the spider dance here too! They also like to chase shadows and light reflections on the walls. My husband drives on crazy reflecting light off his dinner knife. It took our one cat months (as a kitten) to figure out her shadow was just useless to keep stalking... so much dumbness, so little time-

I used to have a cat that when it was a kitten, I'd lay in bed and wiggle my fingers above the blanket and he'd stalk his way up the bed. When he got close, I'd shoot my hand in the air and he'd jump up all four feet at once! It was hilarious and he'd do it over and over!

Pat, I just thought of something: Do you let your kitties sit on your kitchen counter? I'll bet not. And I'll bet you witch out on them when you catch them up there! So, they KNEW that they couldn't get up there to get them mousies! Poor babies, it must have just tortured them to sit and watch! hahahahahahahah

Yup. They do. And then deny it.
