I consider myself to be a happy person (not ivory tower, just content). I'm noticing that a lot of the people around me are 'miserable' people - give them 5 sec & they'll tell you all about it. Some are just mean enough that if they find out you are happy/content, they want to pull you down with them?

Is it so wrong to just be happy/content?

Being happy/content is a choice I make every morning. Life is way too short to spend it being miserable ... or spending it around miserable people.

Reverse it and take them to your Happy medium........
Some people just are that way but NEVER,NEVER let them take you where they are.........
I want a person to remember me as a Happy Person and have a good out-look on life..
Let them remember you that way too
Happier people live longer too......

No its not! I was just talking about this with my girls and my mom yesterday. I would prefer to not have "friends" than deal with that most of the time. Its a sad state of affairs all the way around...Thank goodness for this Board!

I like happy. If I'm not in an especially happy mood I try to not inflict it on anyone else.

Well, I'm a happy, content person too - for me it stems from a personal relationship with Christ and this removes a lot of fear and anxiety. I think these 2 things are underlying emotions for a lot of people. One 30 minute local and national news program and thoughts of moving yourself and loved ones to a mountain hideaway can easily come to mind. I think humor can be a very telling gauge of a society's mindset, and when you look at many of the current comedians there is a very definite "negative, nothing is sacred" attitude for many of them. I have personally been appalled more than once at the supposed "humor" they seem to find in current tragic events. Well I turned this in to a soapbox didn't I? Sorry, not meaning to offend anyone just my observations. Anyway Redkimba it is NOT wrong to be happy/content I'm sure your outlook and attitude are a blessing to many around you.

Happy is good- just look at my collection of rose colored glasses.

I figure if I am upbeat and positive, people will either:
1) ignore me and not be my friend 'cause they can't stand it
or
2) see the sunny side of things and become positive too!

My daughter's friend once asked me why i was so upbeat- even if my kids anger me. I told her I'm old enough to know they have to make their own decisions ans although they are not the decisions I would make, I just watch. It's their life.

It's so much easier to be happy!!!
