Really, unless you left your workplace in a crisis by being absent, you're not being bad. By "crisis" I don't mean that others have to pitch in a bit to cover - I'm sure you do that when others take time off. So if no lives were lost and you didn't cause the company to have to shut its doors, no reason to feel guilty.

Years ago my boss denied me a vacation day during a period when we were not seen patients, just cleaning and doing general lab maintenance and we were actually done. He just wanted to micromanage us to the fullest. I had already tickets to go to Myrtle Beach for a cross Stitcher's group meeting and called "soooo sick" all the way from Myrtle beach. Made sure I didn't get too much sun and never regreted it.

isn't it funny that on "sick" days I can get up extra early to run down and be "sick" in my sewing room....heheheh
good for you - everyone needs that now and then.

Oh, lucky you. Right now my workplace is extra stressful and I'm so burnt-out. Calling in sick, just isn't possible. What I really need is a 2 week vacation from there.

Everyone needs to take a 'mental health' day once in awhile! I say, "Good for you!".
