No doggie door here... afraid of a skunk wandering in.

Back in the middle 70's, when I was stationed at Holloman AFB, New Mexico, I was on my way to work --- it was about 6:30 am --- I opened the front door and there in the middle of the screen door was a huge tarantula. Scared the you-know-what out of me!!! I let out this blood-curdling scream and my husband came a running. He just laughed, got an empty coffee can scooped him up and took him to the back yard! Needless to say I was late for work that morning.

I recently had one about a foot long run out in front of my truck and at first thought it was some kind of deformed squirrel, lol. I live in north central Florida and there's lots of them around, though we're having more trouble with coyotes than gators right now. I'm glad her cats were all right. They were lucky it didn't catch them near the water.

They are one creepy looking spider!! That is scary and one heck of a way to greet the morning. Glad you were OK and didn’t get bit.

AAAHHH!!! I’m glad you didn’t get hurt. When I used to walk my dog in our old neighborhood I would keep my eyes open for gators. I thought at the time a gator couldn’t get into a truck. So I’d check out driveways as we walked, just in case. Then I saw a gator trapper on TV and he said they can get into a truck and climb a fence!

p.s. quilt beagle, I’ve been hearing about the coyotes all over the state. We have them in our town but I’ve never seen one. A neighboring farm town has problems with them killing small live stock. Be safe.
