Mine this week is fudge. There's still quite a bit leftover from Christmas. I even took it to our family dinner but it kind of got lost amongst all the other goodies.
I come from a large family - 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Well, at least there used to be that many. Some of them have a lot of grandchildren. That's how we had 46 at our dinner. There were quite a few missing but it was a very good turn out. We had it in a community building. No one has a big enough house for that many!
This weekend we will be driving to Texas to spend the rest of winter there. I am turning over a new leaf and going to exercise like crazy. Yes, I am! I plan to work my butt off....hopefully my belly and thighs too!

Missy congratulations on your accomplishment. Each little victory is so great. Yes it is easy to take in a lot of calories in drinks. They can really sneak up on you. Any little bit you are able to exercise is good.
We had our after school exercise class today. My legs will probably be sore later. We walked and did tons of lunges, they are real killers. We also did tons of pushups.
When I make my ginormous oatmeal bowl I add all kinds of things. Almost always cinnamon since I love it. Usually a little bit of splenda. Today i added blueberries. Sometimes nuts or dried cranberries. It just depends on my mood. It makes a huge bowl of oatmeal for not too many calories. A tbsp or 2 of pumpkin is good with a little pumpkin pie spice.
I did a bad thing last night. I knocked my ironing board over and the iron melted a burn spot on the carpet right in the center of my sewing room. WOOPS! I also had melted carpet all over my iron.

well, someone laughed last week, but i'll give up my oreos and caramel egg cremes, but just for one week for sure!! if i lose enough i might give them up for longer.
tonight i made a delicious , my dh said so, roasted pepper soup . found a package of beautiful red , yellow, and orange baby peppers, washed, halved and removed seeds and charred them in hot oil with chunked onions. added 2 cloves garlic, a quart of chicken broth, a can of black beans, a can of corn.. season with a little kosher salt, fresh ground pepper, oregano, mrs.dash, adobo, hot pepper flakes, 2 cubes chicken boullion cubes. start with small amounts add more of what you like. allow to cook down a bit, just before serving add a can of diced tomatoes, stir and heat thru. serve. serves 4

I am starving right now! The roasted pepper soup sounds delicious. So does the ginormous oatmeal. Meanmom-how do you cook it? On the stove or microwave?

I have done really well this week on WW, and Jeanne, I am glad you are there with me too.

Missy, what a great story! I would be so thrilled at this point if I could climb stairs at all.

My PH is progressing to the point if I laugh now I begin to cough. And no more raising my arms to take a shirt off, which is bad, because 90% of my shirts are t-shirts. I'm just that kinda gal. I see the lung spclst Thursday so I am looking forward to good news. Why good news? Why not?

This week the blood is doing better, still a little off, but not life threatening or time for the hospital.

Life is good. Keep on working hard because you are worth the struggle.

Good Morning ladies.......

I am up early after finally getting a good nights sleep. I am off to work today, yesterday I was only able to make it 2 hours, finance say I can't keep up at those hours. I am gonna try to get 6-7 hours today, i was able to do 5 hours over the weekend eaach day. I am determined but will not over do.

Short - a magazine you might want to get with your new diabetes diagnosis is Diabetes Self Management. It has helped me.

MJ - happy to hear you are doing some better, praying for good news from the lung specialest tomorrow.

Have a great day.

No failure, no matter how devastating need be final, because God is always the God of second chances!

Good Morning everyone.

It seems like everyone is making positive changes in their life. meanmom I'm with MJ is you oatmeal cooked in the microwave or on the stove? I'd like to give it a try. I think I would cut the portion size in half.

My Taboo for this week is sweetnened coffee. I just can't drink coffee without putting flavored creamer in it which also adds calories. So for 1 week I'm going to taboo it.

MJ how's the WW working for you? It's working well for me as long as I stay strict about keeping control of my points and writeing them down.

God Bless everyone. I'm loosing weight one day at a time.
