Sometimes it gets past the news outlets as well. FOr years, and I haven't been to O'Hare in a coupel of years, but it may still be the announcement in the airport:

I worked with a lady the was the typist for a church cookbook. One the first page those that had helped with the proofreading were thanked. She misspelled 'proofreading' AND her own name. LOL

Thanks for the laugh's. Amazing that some of these folks get paid to write and proofread theses lines.

I write up and type out our church bulletin and alway's proofread and read again so as to avoid these types of mistakes. I actually had someone tell me they were waiting until the day I pull a blooper. Told em it would be a cold day. I am often tempted to put one in just to see how many people catch it and bring it to my attention. My sick sense of humor I guess.
