Purplemen: That looks yummy. I will have to try it. I know my boys won't like it, but hubby might. The kids can just fix themselves something else. I am tired of cooking two different meals each night.

My stupid scale is doing it again. I weigh in in the a.m., get off and jump on again to verify and it is a completely different number. Weighed myself 4 times this morning and came up with 4 different weights, not even close to each other. I am soooooo frustrated. I just don't have the extra $$ right now to buy a new scale.

Hi!
I'm so far behind that I think I passes myself up twice in the last few months. (and quite frankly getting around my extra wide backside wasn't pretty)

I guess two surgerys and a pfa will do that.

I am going to read all the posts and try to get caught up.

I have missed all of you and I am so very glad to be back at least on a limited basis.

I was looking through the internet today just bumming around and thought I'd ask, what things do you guys read? Both weight loss and otherwise?

I find that I will click on any fitness article and at least skim it to see what's in it, and I've got a few books on the shelf, but none that I'd highly recommend to someone trying to loose weight.

I also love Elm creek quilts books, and a lot of fantasy, and mythology reads!

How bout you?

Right now I am reading the Time Traveler's Wife. I also read all of the books my 12 year old needs to read for school. Right now it is the Schwa. (I read it once already and now we are reading it together--he is a genius when it comes to math, but not so much at reading.)

I read several of the big newspapers every morning (NYTimes, San Francisco Examiner, Dallas Morning News) and I LOVE cookbooks. I also love to read books on nutrition like Read It Before You Eat It (AWESOME book). I love reading Ms Magazine and my favorite feminist magazine B*tch. And, of course, I LOVE LOVE LOVE quilting books and magazines!

I read a lot every day and I absolutely LOVE it. My mom taught me to be an independent learner and she instilled a love for reading and learning that I hope I never lose.

MJ that pasta dish looks really good I will try it one day real soon. I love that it doesn't have meat in it. We are trying to eat less meat and more veggies.
I seem to be at a stand still, weighed today and no drop, so disappointing. But I will keep trying to eat right and exercise and drink lots of water.
Liz I like history and stories based of real events. But I also like a good suspense thriller now and then.
Got to go now so I will check in later if I can
I am losing!

I made a very light and refreshing dinner tonight. I cut 2 pints of grape tomatoes in half, finely chopped fresh basil, added some grilled chicken, olive oil, salt and pepper and some whole grain angel hair pasta with a bit of freshly grated parmasen origiano. The pasta has 17 grams of protein per serving and the chicken is loaded with protein too. Overall, very healthy choice and not a heavy meal.

We are pretty cool here with our high temp only 70 today. This might not have been the ideal day for a light meal but it sure did sound good!

We will have my three nephews here with us for about 10 days and I am thinking that one night they could make their own pizzas, maybe some ziploc baggie omelettes and other easy to put together dishes.

Two of my neighbors have returned home from the war and tonight I am going to make a huge batch of Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls. My recipe makes about 8-9 8" round throw away foil pans. I will take one pan cooked and frosted and then another that they can freeze with baking instructions for them to have another time. I will put the other pans in our freezer for when the boys are here.

Oh...I do not remember if I mentioned this but I saw my sister today (she has not seen me in a few weeks) and she said that I look so much smaller! I sure hope she is right cause I am doing all I can to lose this weight.

I was even thinking that I might go in to see the surgeon for another fill before I leave to go to Texas. Not sure though.

I hope all is well with everyone!!

Jeanne-I don't get homicidal but I get sicker when I lose sleep. Also, when I'm in the don't sleep cycle I skip taking my meds because I can't remember if it's day or night. sounds dumb...
Missy-I would do 10 of each. What about quilted bookmarks? Just cut a 1 inch strip, put batting and backing, sew around the edges, turn inside out, and quilt. I'd sell these for $1 and make about 50. Different prices are very important! Walmart panel quilts, already quilted pieces with you adding the binding for $30, maybe 3 or 4, unless you have friends with babies that you can gift them at Christmas, etc.
I saw the cutest Christmas ornaments posted here. 2 yoyos with a sucker stick between them, a fancy button on front, and cellophane with ribbon. Another easy-peasy.
