This one made me cry. My Lexie is at the vets now. She hadn't wanted to eat much this week. I took her to the vet on Friday. She had a temp of 107. A Dog usually has 101.4. She has a kidney infection and it has affected her liver. Her white blood cell count was low and red count OK. I'll know more about what's going on with her later this morning. He said the worst case scenario would be she has lymphoma. Oh great another thing for us to share. I was diagnosed 2 years ago with Non Hodgkins lymphoma. I have maintenance chemo on Monday. Lexie has been such a sweet dog. I can't stand the thought of her not hanging out with me. She is such a great companion. If I had lots of money I'd have her cloned.

How amazing was that and oh so true. My religion says animals do not have souls so they do not go to heaven. Well, I say I know GOD would not give us our loving animals only hear on earth. They will be in our every after as well. I just know that when it is
my time I will be meeting up with my Cotton and Lucky. And my other 2 who I am fortunate to still have with me. In the mean time I know my dad is there taking care of them for me as he did when he was alive.

    Thanks for posting this.

    This is sooo very true.
My dog of 19 years had to be put to sleep shortly after I left home for college.... My "friends" said I was silly for crying because "it's just a dog".... well, horrors of horrors, 4 weeks later, my brother died unexpectantly and yup you guessed it... they said the exact same thing "he was JUST your brother"....
I have never had any contact with any of these people since.... they weren't worth my love.

I couldn't agree more. I don't know what I'd without my little Kiki. Shes the love of my life right now. She cheers me and licks my tears when I'm sad. She makes me smile when I wake in the morning and we play. And her whole body wags when I return from trips out of the house.

You Said It    They are, our furry babies and love us. I love hugging my sweet Border Collies and their soft furry necks. Always at my side, most gentle and sweet. :o)
