I made some apple jelly this year, the first batch came out fine, like jelly, the second batch came out like honey - weird but sooo good. I don;t know how I did it, has anyone ever had it come out like that?

    Those look Yummy !!!

Spoke to a lady not long ago who said " One of the ladies she knew picked, sliced, and seasoned her fruit, than lined a pie pan in the normal shape she uses, filles w/fruit and freezes, when frozen, pulles out pans and stacks the frozen fruit, and durnig winter makes the crust and pops in the fruit in the correct shape, then dosen't worry about it getting squishy or fall apart.
Haven't tried it but sounds like it would work!!
    Happy Canning :)

I spent two days picking apples and pears..I was cussing like a trucker under my breath at hubby, since Hubby stated he was 'too busy' to help.. yea right.. he made himself scarce that big dummy..

I think that'll cost him a shopping trip to my LQS...

He probably would have just been in the way anyhow.

Looks like something I would do. Believe it or not I'm in here waiting on my potatoes to get hot enough to put in jars this morning before I have to leave out. this lady gave me a several bags of potatoes that she demonstrated a peeler on and so now I'm up canning potatoes. It is very satisfying for me. I've already filled my pantry and am having to put in boxes now. Did green tomatoe pickles and halepenos a couple of days ago out of the garden. Keep up the good work. Those jams look delicious

Ah-ha! So that's why you're not having time to quilt! You must be pooped!

Well, my girlfriend and I canned 76 pints of bread and butter pickles yesterday. We were on our feet from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. I'm pretty stiff today, but the pickles look wonderful.
