myfitnesspal.com has a pretty comprehensive list of prepared foods. I don't think I would take the time to try to compile calories and fat grams for my recipes. The more I think about food, the more I eat. I like my fitness pal for several reasons. It tracks calories, water and exercise if you are honest with it. I may try it for a while or those batiks will go to someone else again.

Thank you, Pat, for taking over this thread. Thank you, Cindy, for what you've done to keep it going and being wise enough to step down if it has become stressful to you. Yes, I know it's the 17th. I will get my batik out when I go to the dentist tomorrow - I couldn't get to the drawer they are in until now because some of the family room furniture was stuffed in my bedroom.

I AM losing weight and getting healthier. My shoulder doesn't feel too bad today which is a definite plus.

I have my quilt retreat this weekend. I can't wait. I hope to finish a baby quilt tonight. It is an heirloom sampler. 12 different blocks and techniques. I have 2 blocks left to quilt and the label to make. It is coming out really well. It is for my DS and DIL. I need to get it in the mail as it is going to Japan. I need to get my things ready for retreat. I like to take things that don't take a whole lot of thought so I can visit and talk. I was going to make a professional tote for me. I have had the fabric for a while. I want to get it all cut before I go. There is only limited space for a large cutting mat. We usually set up 2 or 3 for 55 people. There are several small cutting stations. It is a lot of cutting. I also want to cut out a one block wonder to take along too. The food is delicious, not diet friendly. Dessert is served at lunch and dinner. It is an old boarding school and they are awesome cooks. I hope the weather is good so I can get out for a walk.

I just went for a walk. What an adventure! My street is rutted solid ice so I have to take the car and park at the sales office, then go as far as I can in each direction without hitting more ice. Lily and Moira give me a look when I say 'Turn' and they can see no reason.

Shouldn't 'chili beans' be seasoned? I bought organic, low salt chili beans at the natural food store. I just opened them expecting seasoned pinto beans - nope, these are just a mix of kidney, black and pinto and a little salt. Odd.

Have a fun time, Pat. I love quilt retreats! I try to have my fabric all cut before I go for a couple of reasons. I don't want to hog the cutting table and also I might cut things wrong if there is a lot going on around me. The ones I usually go to we provide our own food. It's a pain in the butt but it does save a lot of money. Too bad I am pretty much done with quilt retreats since I am babysitting. That's one of the hardest things I have had to give up.
Those are some strange sounding chili beans.
I made homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner tonight. Yummy!
Today I am working on getting a baby quilt quilted. The baby was born while I was on vacation so I need to get going on it. I will do the binding by machine since it is a baby quilt.

I didn't get much tonight. I heard from my DS who is in the process of getting out of the Navy. He is back in the states now and doing paperwork. He will be home sometime in the next week or so. I quilted one block and figured out the label. I am stumped on how to quilt the last block. It is a tulip that is sort of diagonal on the block. I want to quilt each block differently. Just no ideas of what to do. Apparently I can't do feathers any more. I tried several times on some scraps, I just can't get them to look right. I used to be able to do them. Anyone have any good ideas. It is a 10inch block. It is too close to the corners to do a circular design. Hoping sleeping on it will help.

Can you echo quilt the tulip? I liked that effect on the flowers on my daughter's quilt.

I have a major problem - and what was the first thing I did? Go to the cupboard to eat some almonds. Didn't change anything. I still I have the same problem.

Our ass't pastor is retiring and a person called to have a quilt made for her. I found a butterfly print online with 8 coordinates and ordered $91 worth. It came today. The prints are too big and too bright. J loves butterflies and likes purple, but this is too much. I can't think of how to calm it down.

Do you have some fabric in your stash that could go with it? Maybe just use a couple of the large, bright prints and something else to calm it down? Can you show us a picture of them? We might not think they are as bad as you do. Almonds aren't too bad of a choice. I would have gone for chocolate!

Yes, post us a picture of the fabric. Almonds are a pretty good choice. I would have been in the chocolate stash. I have some good chocolate ice cream right now. I came in from work and had the bowl and the ice cream scoop out. I did put it away. Luckily I came to my senses before I ate it all. I ate about 1 tbsp.
I thought about echoing the tulip in my quilt block but i have already done that in another block. I have a stencil catalog that I sometimes use for ideas. I am going to look on Leah Day's website for an idea too.
