    Jassmyn, those are the cotton belts. When they are new they are a light beige/natural color but they pick up the black from the machine. If it's sewing fine, they're okay. When the motor belt is about to fail, it will slip or sometimes slide off as it stretches and can be tightened but then eventually breaks. They will sew for many years before wearing out.

    Checking for extra belts at your local repair place is a good idea. Get whatever ones they have for future need.

    Wow, the machine is nice, but I love the cabinet. Hope the machine was taken care of as well as the cabinet was.

    I really like the looks of the "vintage" cabinet hope the machine works as well as the cabinet looks. Sounds like you got a great deal.
