I feel for you and your loss. It is such an invasion and violation of your privacy. I hope you get your treasures back. My son hd his bike stolen from his yard, found it on Craigslist, called the "seller". The police after some "encouragement", set up a sting and he did get his bike back. The stupid thief was arrested.
Good luck

So sorry that you were victimized. I don't have any input on a new machine, but if it were me, I'd pick up a used machine to use while shopping for a new one. Then, once you find your perfect new machine, you'd have a backup for emergency situations.

It is so upsetting to have one's privacy invaded like that. Most thefts seem to be drug related today. They don't care what they take as long as they can sell it. I am so sorry this happened.

So very sorry to hear about your loss! The smash and grabs are the worst because they have no idea of the value of what they get their hands on.
All three of my machines are Elnas. Two were purchased before Janome and Elna joined and I have purchased the top of the line sewing and embroidery machine that has been manufactured since their "merger". I love all three of them and I do not think the quality has suffered since the "merger". I do think you have to purchase from a dealer who offers service and education after the sale though. I have sewn on the 6600 and it is a great machine. All the accessories store right on the front of the machine in their own slots and are covered by a door. The newest Elna for quilting, the e740, is the best though. I have test driven it several times and am absolutely in love! I am saving up for it.
Good luck on your search. I will keep my eyes open here in Kansas for your possessions!

Sorry to hear of your sad experience. Hopefully some things will be returned. As far as the Elna, I really cannot comment on it, but I do have a suggestion. When I was looking, last month, I also asked about floor models, and used machines. I got lucky and found a floor model that I was really interested in, and got it for 1/2 price of what it sold for new! I truly hope you get things sorted out soon. As others have suggested, check your homeowners insurance as well.
