He also has to transition his job and sell our house, so we may have a commuter marriage for a while but we're ok with that. I am looking forward to finding new quilting buddies, and hope that some of you may be among them!
And I probably need to find a new name for myself on here.

I hope all works out well for you. We just bought a second home on a golf course in Raleigh and love it..our son and family live in the same golf community and that is so nice...we are retired so go back and forth to our home on the ct shore. Good luck with selling and with your jobs

I don't know how big a city you are moving from but Winston-Salem is a great place. I go there to shop, and especially pick up Gloria Jean's ice coffee mix. A lot of nice eating places. You'll have to visit Old Salem. We often took our school children down there.

Lived in W-S area for long time. Does have quilting groups you will enjoy. Several good quilt shops. I moved "back home" a few years ago. Pilot Mountain. Mayberry Country. Have you determined where in the area you want to live. Lots of great communities. Good Luck and welome to NC, the Tarheel State.

I live in Statesville, NC less than an hour from west of Winston-Salem. We've got two quilt shops in Statesville and two in Mooresville just minutes from here! I moved from FL to NC in 97 and love it here! I'm sure you will too!
