I don't have any of these problems, I have a gas range and love it, wouldn't have electric.
My Daughter has a ceramic topped electric range, she only uses the cleaner made for it, too much money to take a chance of maybe ruining it.

you can use your Corning cook ware. I use Revere stainless and copper bottom pots. Also cast iron pot. They all work fine.
