I remember them oh to well. Being only 5" 1" with a size 5 shoe those nylons were always too long for my feet, had to tuck the toe under and they usually came up to high on my leg so had to roll the top down. And those garter belts, gerrr I have allergies to metal so always had a rash on my legs. Even when panty hoses came out I had trouble finding a decent pair that fit nicely. Now, haven't worn any since I retired in o6.
Freedom at 55..yes!!!

I will wear seamed stockings now if the occasion allows for them. I also prefer a garter belt to full pantyhose any day!

I never had any with seams but I do now. Was diagnosed with lymphedema in both legs last fall so I get to wear $400.00 a pair custom made compression hose with seams down the back and it ain't easy getting them seams straight!! I hate them. Thick and heavy.

I am right with you on this one..the rubber girdles were awful, but an improvement over garter belts is you ask me! Today is better, better, better --tho could do with some more tasteful TV advertising!
