i used to do all that "stuff" to. but, my kids are grown and after working a full week...my time is my own. i may not get as much done as others but i enjoy my time i do have. and i do what needs to be done. i'm no longer into perfection. good enough on housework works for me.

First of all; I admit I don't do it all; at least at one time. On my days off I watch my two little grandkids; that live with me. My 5 yr old helps me pick everything up in the morning and vacumm; he's trying to learn but I normally go back over it. He wants to help me so sometimes it takes longer to get it done that if i did it by myself. I try to make sure everything is picked up. I have my grown daughter living w/me so I rarely cook; I can eat a sandwich or salad and be happy. She stinks at the cleaning so it gets a little messy at times. I figure once she moves out it'll be easier; my dream anyhow. I try to sew in between the kids and staightening up. It takes longer for me to get a quilt done and I recently figured out that the reason I slow down when I'm getting close to completion is because I don't know how to quilt other than SID or knots. I'm organizing my sewing room now so that I can start quilting and I'll feel better about it all. I wish I had a maid but I'd probably be really tired because I know me; I'd have to scrub the house from top to bottom before she got there. If my front rooms look decent I quit worrying about it all; very few people come to visit and if they do they are in the front rooms. We would all like to do it all and I know some people can; it's just not me.

Is there a "like button" here?

I clean for company, which seldoms comes to stay, & it's funny, DH will help then, like it matters, right! Housework, to me, is a big waste of time, & a losing battle, as it right there again soon, to do all over, with nothing to show for it when you are done, & in my case, a husband who doesn't notice anyway... So glad I started quilting, or I would have went crazy staying home by now!...

I am like QuiltinCowGirl. I have no kids, grandkids, a cleaning lady and a landscaping service. In between, my house is picked up but not clean and my laundry is always a mess.
I do work full time but my hubby works two nights a week and all day Saturday so I have lots of free time.

No Kids at home, no one ever visit's so my house is just picked up, I got hurt back in 2009 so my abilities are Minimum, I've found quilting helps me get over depression some what because not able to do the things I once use to do! But my house needs detail cleaning bad, and I'm just waiting for my lawsuit to be done with so I can hirer someone to come and help me with deep cleaning so I don't put myself in the bed again....My husband keeps outside up and works full time, even though he retired from the Military... I quilt only when I'm feeling well....
