Okay - what's the deal?

Thanks Bobbie...you're right!!! I'd wondered where some were, too!
I just read the top (if all else fails, read the instructions!!!) and I noticed there's a Quilting Newsletter!!! Didn't know that was there!!! I signed up...might be interesting!

What I think is everyone these days are irritable. None of us have much free time, short of money, health isn't what it should be, family problems, etc. It makes us short-tempered and intolerant. Many of us have nobody else we can talk to and it is easier to talk to someone that isn't involved in our personal lives. That is why the PD is a great place to have.
Another thing I noticed is a lot of people will read a post and just not comment. I'm very guilty of this. When it is a very sad story I'm left in tears and speechless (anybody that knows me knows that I'm NEVER speechless!) and I just don't feel like I have anything useful to say.
I wish that the PD section was actually backwards and had the most recent posts show up first. I tend to like to read boards backwards. And when I'm short of time I can just view the latest news.
We all need to relax and try to be more accepting of others. Everyone has a bad day once in awhile and others (like me) seem to have one every day ;-)

It just really bothers me when people get so short with people who are having a hard time of it. And maybe they don't mean it but things come across differently in typewritten form. It is hard to put emotion in writing.
there are a lot of cranky people in my life and I just want peace and quiet!! And time to quilt

I think what throws me about the PDA and the reason I don't visit there much is because of the name--PERSONAL and DIARY. I feel like a peeping thomasina when I go there. I know that if a person didn't want anyone to know they wouldn't post it on such a large public forum as this but the title still gives me pause.

I'm surprised at how many people don't want to read about other peoples problems! It always makes me realize that there are people worse off then me. Makes me feel grateful when I'm feeling sorry for myself. I posted about my pain in General and it wasn't moved. I learned so much about everyones reply! I know I wouldn't have gotten all those replies if it was moved to another section. I don't post all my vents and problems. Just the ones I don't know how to deal with or seem to have taken my life over. The ladies who answered my posts were so helpful and understanding!

I agree with Raptureready and PatriceJ and others. But like the chat room gets bad reviews, not fair. We have fun in there and only a very few incidents, don't be afraid to lurk but join us too. We talk about everything, not just quilting as some would like. ALso the Personal Diary section is good and not only for sad or bad news but some posts bring smiles and happy news. Read it, we wouldn't post it if we did not want to share. Agreed, some of our lives would make you think, whew! thank goodness for mine. LOL. The Admin and moderators do what they can. So far, I have seen them jump on most of the things that have to be addressed. I would not want their jobs. Thank goodness only about 98.999999 of us can behave, the rest, keeps them on their toes. LOL. I posted about a trip to Houston, and poof, it disappeared and went to Offline events. Right where it should have gone and I get answers. Same with PDA, People answer me all the time. YOu will get responses there. Thanks to a great board and a wonderful family.

PDA's are there to share. Read a few and see why we like them. I make lots of new board memeber friends in there. It's not all sad. Life is good. Quilting and sharing with you keeps me going. Thanks to all who read EVERYTHING on here. You don't have to comment. But we like them too. As long as they are nice. Please don't comment to hurt others. We may not say anything and follow the rules, but words can be so hurtful. SO see you in the chat room and on PDA, you are not being nosey, we want you there. HUGS
