NO! It was NOT true. It was a joke. It does show, though, how conditioned Americans are to continue to believe the "Cold War" version of Russia, and how much this "administration" (in Russia) seems to have remnants of that mentality.

My husband and I watched the whole thing. We thought Russia did a great job at it.

I was in awe of the young lady. She was pretty amazing. I was a little puzzled with the "entertainment" part of the
ceremony. Can't remember what other countries have done but it seemed a little cold to me.

I enjoyed some of the ceremony, but felt that there was way too much politics involved

I really enjoyed watching this with my Dad. He has dementia but understands history because he remembers things from the past fully. He also enjoyed this event fully. We watched the entire event and he was completely engaged.
