Wishing you a speedy recovery. Also laughing with you because this sounds like something I would do.

Been there, done that especially falling off my sewing chair when bending over to pick up scissors.

I have a magnetic wand that is about 8 inches long and I use it to reach for and pick up my small sewing scissors and pins from the floor. I just bend ever so slightly and wave the wand over the fallen objects and I save myself a bad fall or fat lip.

With my luck, I would have dropped the scissors again.

I can't count the number of times I've accidently run the sewing machine needle through the tip of my finger. Last time I had to go to the local medical clinic to have metal fragments dug out of it, tried to get them out myself, but couldn't. Live & learn. I bought a stilletto to push the fabric under the needle.

I got a fat lip once from a fall, even needed stitches. And that Sunday the minister spoke about domestic abuse. I had an announcement to make regarding the Church bazaar but before I got into that I said - my husband did NOT hit me!

I could picture this whole thread showing up as a montage on American's Funniest Videos.

I do hate it when the chair skids out from behind you.

AFV!! YES!!

The chair thing happens to me at work. I've learned to stand up first if I drop something. I'm a receptionist/swbd operator in the public eye. Talk about embarrassing! I so feel for you!
