They are all gone. I am tired of DIY house, room, car, garden, grass, etc fixer uppers. What will it take to bring this back. Perhaps if Charlie Sheen took up crafting (other than you know what) we would have a bundle to choose from. Reality, if one of those programs truly touched on reality, no one would watch. This is so sad that all we have today is watching people destroy themselves or look like whatevers, that we are losing. Any ideas.

i don't even watch the home repair shows other that this old house.. because they all finish in 48 hours... which means it wasn't done right...
we are restoring a circa 1738 house & i can tell you there hasn't been a single project other than finally painting a room that was complete in 48 hours...
i really miss simply quilts... that was my favorite show.

I finally just paid the 24.95 to QNNTV online so I can get all of the Fons & Porters and the entire video library (all of Eleanor Burns!!). Since I am definitely a novice in technique, it was worth it to me to be able to watch the shows to help me learn more.

I wondered is it campaign week where PBS does special programming to raise money? No that's not it.
Then I checked for the shows in the Search function of my cable system.
Fons and Porter and Sewing with Nancy aren't even listed anymore.
So now there are no sewing, quilting, knitting, crafting shows of any kind on my cable.
But, oh Joy!!! if I ever want to buy, sell, repair a house there are a lot to see.
Grrrr

Our PBS airs Fons and Porter but its not on a particular day which is frustrating so I find myself fast scanning through the weeks schedule lineup until I find it. Our DIY channel just re-airs the same stuff every day. I wish they'd get more programming and more craft/sewing related content it seems like its next to none here.

Same up here in Maine. They assured me, if I paid my "dues", they would bring back the Fons and Porter series, not going to happen even though I paid my dues. They have substituted the show Quilting Arts which really doesn't interest me at all.
I can get Quilt in a Day on RFD-TV and our PBS had been running the same thing for two months. Why not vary the shows and not have the same show on. I can remember Saturday mornings when there were many quilting shows on, Georgia Bonsteel, Nancy Zieman, etc. I guess they think only repair guys watch tv?
