Tracking lets you know where your package has gone astray. One of mine is still in transit after a week and a half, but at least I know that it's still traveling and hasn't gone missing totally

Well worth the extra couple of bucks to track a package.

I always track my packages, especially to a daughter that doesn't let you know packaged arrived - I am sure the same general principle could be applied to some buyers. I personally like knowing where my package is. I do not mind the additional costs at all and consider it piece of mind.

I just shipped out neck scarves for Special Olympic`s in a box advertised " If it fits, It ships". Well it fit, but the post office weighed it and it cost my $10.97 to ship. I protested a little but didn`t want to keep it, as they needed them. I will have to think about doing this next year.

As an international buyer, I insist that packages not be sent by the regular post. Maybe it's a middle east thing, but you will "lose " that package about 50% of the time. With FedEx especially (because the prices are pretty good), UPS or DHL I can be sure my package will arrive, and i can follow it to see if/ where it is being held up.

when I lived overseas, I learned to request tracking-the AQIS, at times, would hold a package or sometimes just let it thru. It was nice to know where things were and in what stage of release Or if AQIS had it and I needed to pay a fee. I, also, had a lot of packages shipped to my sons address, which I used as a US address while overseas. He would then bundle and ship my items to me. Most of those got thru without AQIS inspection as his was a private address and not a business. They seem to inspect business addresses more.

When we had our business I used FedEx, UPS and USPS Priority Mail but if I wanted to be sure to have tracking I used FedEX or UPS. If nothing else, it buys peace of mind. I wanted to be able to track it if needed. Also, FedEx and UPS handle all the customs and it was faster than USPS. The only time I used USPS was something going to Canada. Anything else international went FedEx. You don't have to ship overnight you can use less expensive options.

Tracking is important in some cases. My grandson has had big trouble with USPS.

Friends have had experience with FedX going into China. Big delay, and lost some contents of package. USPS package with through quickly, and intact!
