I totally understand as I just finished painting a good part of our house -- 1 room to be done later and a bath to be remodeled -- painting looks so easy until you really get started (which is the hard part for me)-- good luck

I dont mind painting, as long as Im not rushed. Its so rewarding at the end. worst part in my opinion is the prep work, but just like anything else, prepping is the most important step.

I love fresh paint especially if some one else painted and cleaned up and put everything back in it's place :) I have better things to do, well, maybe not better but more fun!

I am probably the odd one out...but I like painting. It just takes longer now than when I was young. My mother let me paint my rooms however I wanted and when I was 14, I painted my basement bedroom in black and white stripes, and then painted old furniture a bright gloss red for the accents. All my friends were so jealous. Still one of my favorite color combos. And then I painted a huge mural on another wall.
I paid for it later when I had to cover it all up to sell my parents house!

My advice....prep everything very well!

I won't paint any more. I have arthritis in my neck and bursitis in my shoulder. I painted my daughter's room and couldn't move for a week after. If I need a room painted I will save my change and hire someone to paint it.

Gotta admit, painting a room white sure wouldn't motivate ME! Maybe sage green, yellow or blue....!

He had to work and I was off, so I agreed to do the first coat. He is now putting on the second coat and will also do the ceiling. He is much taller than me so it is easier for him. We want to get it done before the babies come back on Sunday for a visit.

I have had color on the walls in the past. At one time, younger DD's room was half neon pink and half neon lime green. Talk about bright!!!! It took 3 coats of Kilz primer to cover it up. The kitchen was hunter green but now back to white. We may do the main bathroom in a light country blue this spring.

I don't mind the actual painting...it's the clean up I hate!
