We hope you all had a great Christmas! We took Emily to our parents for the day. A few days before I had taken three rolled rawhides, put a ribbon on them, then stuck them in among the branches of my parent's Christmas tree. It is a little three footer on top of a side table. I THOUGHT I put them out of the (Standard) Poodle's reach, but the next day, Dad told me how Eric (black color) came running into their room that morning with one of them in his mouth! Somebody was more than a little disappointed when his present got put back in the tree... but he was sidetracked with a ride to work and a visit with us and Emily.

My parents forgot my request to wait to give the rawhides to the poodles until Emily could get hers too, but put them back in the tree, and later when I handed them out, Brigit (chocolate color) was not in the least bit interested in hers, but keenly so on Emily's. (I knew it had to be hers because it still had a ribbon on it.) There was a bit of snatching and retrieving going on. I think Emily wound up with hers in the end. Dogs can be so much like little kids with their jealousies and such!

It has taken me a while to go through my photos but here are my two wonderful people in a puppy suit. Sammy is a sometimes white Maltese Shitzu whom I have had since he was 6 weeks old, he is now 10 and a little grumpy old man with a heart condition. But I wouldn't trade him for the world. Prince (my avatar) is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and is now 7 years old and a little hyperactive.
Our first dog was a Cavalier KCS but sadly he passed away in 2004, only 3 weeks before we were moving interstate. His name was Buster and he was 12 when he passed away. My little Sammy was fretting for his mate so that prompted us to get another dog.
They are thoroughly ruined, spoilt rotten hand fed and have me wrapped around their little paws. What a wonderful world to live in.

That really does look like a smile! Do they get along this great all the time? What kind of dog is Athena?

The first pics are Peaches, a 3 YO English Bulldog. Peaches is our first Bulldog and I love her dearly. We got her just after Christmas from a rescue in Tucson. She is originally from TX. She was rescued from TX by a lovely couple who were not told the truth about her medical conditions, there are many!! Anyway, she was given up because her medical just got too expensive and it seems this will be lifelong. Soooo, maybe we really don't need to go on vacation this year????
The next pic is Molly, Boxer and Oreo, Shih-Tzu. Molly passed last year at 13. Oreo was my Mom's dog before she passedand we inherited and who did not like us very much. That is why we adopted Peaches. It's very hard to live with a dog who doesn't like you. If you can imagine this, he was cordial, didn't growl or anything but only survived at our house. That changed immediately when we got Peaches for some reason???

Boy, we love our furry friends, don't we. Jerzee joined our family about 3 1/2 years ago. He is part poodle and part bischon, a poochon. He is a rescue dog and was only 4 months when we got him. He was the dirtest, scruffiest little thing when we got him. His fur was chopped here and there and he was so timid. He now has the sweetest personality and has quickly become a member of our family. He is always the first to lay on my quilts, finished or not. We were lucky to find him. Petfinder.com is a wonderful source.

P.S. He is no longer a fan of wearing clothes. But he looked so cute.

Here is my quilting buddy. I am disabled and I am home by myself from 5am to 430pm when my wife is at work, but this little friend has become my BFF. He follows right behind me and when I set down he sits on my feet and when I go to the quilt studio, he sits beside me and whines until I get his "Bed" made. You'll see what I mean when you see the pictures.
His name is Bentley and he is a Shitshu and Toy Poodle breed called "Shipoo" he is awesome.

Wow! Am I glad I found this thread! Y'all know how much I like to brag on my Leo. But this post is about Leo's predecessor, Yankee. We got Yankee from a rescue in Peoria, IL (6.5 hours -- one way -- away!). He had been found wandering on "Yankee Road" so that's what they named him. The best our vet could figure, he was a beagle/german shepherd/husky mix (& had personality & behavioral traits of all of them). He was about 3 months old when we got him & died last fall when he was only 5 years old. He had a bad reaction to a Lyme vaccination & developed a seizure disorder as as result. We were able to control it for 2 years but in the end, even with all the meds he was on (7 different ones every single day), they become impossible to control & after he'd had 9 grand mal seizures in a 24-hour period, we had him put to sleep. Needless to say, we were beyond devastated. Yankee never met a living thing that he didn't love & want to be with. We used to say he had more personality than most humans we knew. He was just straight up funny & I could be here all day telling you all the cute/funny things he did. But I won't. Just suffice it to say, he was a bright light in this world & I still miss him terribly. Here are a couple of pictures of him... one just being his usual ham self (he LOVED to have his picture taken) & the other fast, fast asleep (resting up to be cute & funny another day). So, without further ado... Yankee Pierre Burch...

All these pictures make me chuckle. Keep posting folks. Here are pictures of some of our pets. Nina is our 4 1/2 lb, six month old Havanese puppy and Tweety and Sweety are out parakeets.

Here are my fur babies- Pepper and Angel.

Pepper, or red dog as my hubby says, is an Aussie/chow/lab mix. She is 6 years old and greatly dislikes thunderstorms and any other loud noises. Her favorite place is beside me in the recliner with her head buried behind my back.

Angel, or black dog as my hubby says, is a border collie/ lab mix. She is 12 years old. She likes running after the squirrels in the yard and aggravating Pepper with squeaky toys. Her favorite place is anywhere near your feet and the corner of the couch where she can supervise the living room.

Wish everyone had hearts as big as yours! Keep up the good living.

So cute, it us hard to get our babies to do what we want.

We used to have dogs but are to old to walk them.. So kitties are easier for us to deal with. We gave 3 babies, one black, one rag doll and a Maine raccoon. The Maine coon is the most love able.. Over the years have had dogs, birds, cats If you want to go some where, cats come and go as they place, they don't need a lot of maintains.

Besides our dog and two cats, we have this non human friend. He's quite a bit bigger than this now. His mama rejected him-she had twins and would only take care of one. So we brought him home (his mother belongs to my FIL) and raised him on a bottle. He's a pest..er...I mean a pet. His name is Pete but dh calls him Stink so that's mostly what he responds to.
