Same here.....hope it lasts for a while.

I had all the vents cleaned in this house before I moved in. I have never had the smell problem in this house. I don't know what makes those smells, the air conditioner would use those same vents. It just makes me feel better to have them cleaned now and then.

The Pastor on Sunday said the bad smell is the odor of dying spiders in the ductwork!! I THINK he was kidding!

Do you own a fabric shop that participates in shop hops? I head out Buffalo way at least once a year for shop hops.

What is rain? Could you please describe it? It's been so long since we had any that we have children who don't remember it!

My friend, a furnace repairman, said to have your furnaces checked, clean out the ductwork, replace the old clogged filters, vacuum all around, and do this yearly. The dust settles over the summer and can cause problems. No need to have a bad smell or risk a fire.

Oh, I hear you!!!!!!!

As we are redoing the floors thru' the house, we are putting in underfloor heat. So nice to not have the "fall smell" this year!! We finally have enough floors done now that we haven't had to turn on the furnace. Since we live in northern Minnesota, I suspect we will at some point as the kitchen won't get done until next summer. Sure is nice to get up in the night and have warm under bare feet!!!!

Every seson when time for furnace to come on, we vacuum the vent as far in as we can and then we take wet paper towels and cover the vents. Then we turn on the furnace and let her run for a cycle or two. We have no filter on our furnace (oil) except for the oil coming in the house. If we did, we would also change that before turning on.
