Ouch! I feel your pain. I did it about 4 years ago in rush also. The blade jumped the ruler and got the tip of my finger. Good news is the finger grows back, and the only reason I know which hand it was, is because I know I am left handed. LOL

I did that a few years ago. It is very painful. I now use a gripper that keeps my hand away from the rotary cutter. I can hardly stand to watch them cut with one on the sewing shows now.

How is the finger today...Hope its better...

So sorry for you. I sliced the side of my finger off two weeks ago. Careless and tired when I did it. Found the piece that I cut off on the table later. Mine will grow back. Hope I will pay closer attention in the future. God bless you and hope your finger heals quickly.

Hope the pain isn't too bad and you heal quickly!

So sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you heal quickly. I cut my right index finger last fall - the cutter cut through my nail about half way down - yikes!! I didn't lose my nail, and the nurse practitioner I went to said to use super glue to hold the nail together until it grew out enough to trim. It worked and my finger is as good as new. Went through quite a number of bandaids and had to wear rubber gloves for dishwashing and cleaning. I think I learned a lesson that day on the correct way to use a rotary cutter.

Chances are that if you have any nail left, it will eventually grow back like it was. eventually could mean several months ...depending how much you cut off. If you only cut off a bit of the tip, soon it will be well...

I have the one that automatically closes, but I have brushed my hand over it when it was laying on the table and cut a sliver off my finger. So now I lay it away from me.

Ouch Ouch!! I was incredibly lucky one time and just cut through my thumb nail down to my skin. Again, not paying attention. Heal quickly love.
