I love anchovies...sardines are ok. Our cats love sardines :)

Interesting, I like them with mustard sauce. They are suppose to be good for you too. High in protein and omega3.

My husband can't stand them, but then he has his fluffernutter sandwich, yuk!

I have never eaten one. They are too ugly to eat.

yum on soda crackers with a slice of chedder on the side with an apple. best shared with a cat or two.

far as I know, I have never had a sardine in my life, but my house is so small, sometimes I feel like one.
just a thought: don't think I'll be trying them either.

Yes! Packed in oil or mustard sauce, with saltines, or crackers, or white toast. Nutritious and tasty, but don't have them very often because DH doesn't like the smell. On the other hand, anchovies? Absolutely NOT!

Can't stand the smell. I left the house when my ex bought them, but buy them for my dogs. H-m-m-m.

When my children were still at home. My daughter made me a tuna sandwich. She watched me eat the first half. Then she burst into giggles. It was really sardines. Needless to say I didn't eat the other half. FYI...she became a chef!!

An old BF liked them and I made him go out on the apartment balcaony to eat them then throw the can down to the ground. I wouldn't let him even walk it through to go out to the dumpster!

Thanks for the memories! My Dad used to eat them with mustard. I used to eat them as a child. Haven't had any in many many years.

Well mashed with any visible bones picked out, mixed with tomato sauce (ketchup), tiny bit of chopped onion, toast one side of bread, flip, spread the mix on untoasted, then put under grill til done. Only way I can eat them.

I love sardines. I also like pickled herring in sour cream. I think it is in our genetic taste buds.

*SHUDDER* They are disgusting yet my DH loves them.

My DH and I both like sardines. We buy the ones in tomato sauce. I also like anchovies but then I like all kinds of fish/seafood except oysters and clams. We eat the sardines on crackers.

I buy the ones in water for my Dachshunds. They get them as a treat for breakfast every now and then. I rinse the can out rellllly well before I put it in the trash. I don't want the smell in the house.
As for their breath - I go to work - I don't smell it. They NEVER get them for dinner!

I like sardines in mustard, smoked oysters and love anchovies on pizza. I grew up in Florida and have always loved seafood and fish.

My mother-in-law spent many years "workin' in the factory" packin' sardines..... Factory is gone, but good ol sardines from Downeast Maine are still the best around.
