Well, we hit about 62 about 6 am today and expect it to be 99+ before the day is over. We normally have a 40 degree swing during the day, winter and summer. It gets really hard to dress for the day.
I am amazed that utilities cost so much for some of you. We have swamp (evaporative) coolers during the summer because it is so dry. And they cost very little to run. During the winter I have natural gas forced air and only pay about $100 at the most for the two coldest months. |

It's still in the 90's here so we don't have that problem. Usually a cold (cooler) snap in Oct and not much else til late Nov or Dec.

We have a hydraulic log splitter so actually that's the ONLY part I don't mind!

Hear Hear Our rule----is not until October, but it also got down to 34 and the heat come on. I refuse to freeze or even be too cold --- too old and the cold penetrates my bones. As much as I have tried, Mother Nature refuses to listen to me.

I am sooo nt ready for the furnace yet. I try to not turn it on until Halloween. That is usually the first fire in the fireplace moment. My ac is sitll going strong. I suppose soon I won't need it. I think if I opened the windows at night I wouldn't need it. But my allergies say leave em closed!
