There have been several threads on quick quilts.
I have made several of this particular pattern. The first one (QAYG) took me 2 1/2 hours plus the binding. The great thing is any attractive large scale print will work for the center. I have made them up to twin sized.

Another way to go is to do a single or a few , oversized block(s). For example, I may make 9-11" HST units, depending on the usable size of my fabric, and make a sawtooth star or a friendship star from those. The result is very quick, without making a dull quilt, IMHO.

If you "birth" your quilts, you don't even have to do binding.

How interesting ! ! ! I have a friend who wants to make a quilt - and she has limited concentration.... I am interested to hear more so I can take notes. Thanks for this topic.

I think the Turning Twenty or Yellow Brick Road are easy and quick. I got my King size Turning Twenty cut out one day and sewn together the next.

just yesterday I made a rag quilt that started with9" squares. I used flannel both sides for the first time--I usually use flannel only on one side. Anyway, it was7x8 squares, that finished at 8", so 56x64 and I did it start (with cutting) to finish (ready to toss in washer) in well under 8 hours. I forgot to photograph it and gave it away today. but, it was easy and so cozy and comfortable. I simply sewed diagonally each way to layer the 3 layers together.

(My son and his ex brother-in-law) are very close and are always together. They lost everything they own.... including the quilts I just made for their two little ones ages 2 (Nathan) and 6 months (Olivia). Now I need a pattern for the quickest quilt to make for mom and dads bed...and for the little ones. Any ideas.. scrappy if possible as I only have enough fabrics to make scrappy.

I will be happy to help if I could. I don’t have the time or the finances to make heirloom quilts (last one was about 25 years ago) and/or quilts with fussy small piece patterns anymore. The ones I sew now have a “built in” warmth quality via mainly 100% cotton flannel & sometimes with denim. Minky or Polar Fleece are always used in separate finished products as the washing/drying temperature is so different from cotton fabric. The rag quilting and other simple methods allows for little or no use of traditional batting, usually cut out into mostly larger pieces, adding the integration of much “rag” quilting technique even no visible quilting (tying or machine tacking) instead of even machine quilting for texture and interest. I also enjoyed using the “10 Min. Block” for some of my quilts.

Here are some samples of recent ones made during the last 6 months or so. I let the fabrics themselves carry the interest of each example, rather than extensive piecing and/or quilting for quick use. Feel free to copy the ones I made if you wish:
