My inspector number 4 is all grown up now. He was a baby in my first avitar now here he is all grown up. He drags my flannel yardage all over the house and on my bed. All four of my inspectors love the sewing room, right now one is rubbing and purring on me to stop me from the computer.
We need our pets so much to keep us grounded and in touch with nature.

I have a small kitten rescue. I tend to have at least 6 and up to 14 kittens at a time zooming all over my house. I have one right now who is the BEST helper with sewing.. oh that fabric coming through the machine he sits in the back and helps pull it through.. he pounces on the fabric I am cutting (grrr) and oh if there happens to be a piece I can toss on the floor to him he is in kitty heaven. And heaven forbid I leave a piece I am working on on the ironing board overnight. The whole house and where does EVERYONE have to sleep? Good thing I wash my gifts before I gift them! Not everyone is as excited as I am with cat hair.

My DD's cat used to pull the pins out of anything she had pinned. She really worried that it would get hurt. Her cat was always curled up right beside her while she sewed.

I have 2 kitty quilt inspectors too. Norman & Kiki. Yes you gotta love them! They are always right there whenever you are trying to work on something.
My mom has a dog inspector named Molly. She will even pick up a spool of thread if my mom drops it, very carefully and does not slobber on it.

My son's kitty is my quilting inspector. I have to make sure my quilt frame is covered, otherwise she thinks it's her own personal hammock!

This my Mama cat Smoky. She has been an inspector since she was a couple of months old. All of my cats think it is okay to sit in the middle of the hoop WHILE I am working on it........

You can see two of them in my avatar. DD just adopted a new one and that one is as busy as the other two. They do love to help me.

I have two. Orion is the siamese, we adopted her last summer, her other owners were going to have her killed (!)
Leia is the grey and white ball of more fur than cat. She's 10 years old, I got her as a high school graduation gift.

BTW, yes, Leia was just lying like that. I had time to go get my camera and come back and take the pic and she was still just lying there like that. Sometimes she goes to lick herself and has her legs all up in the air, then she finishes but doesn't put her legs back down... weirdo!

Seven years ago, my Polly passed on at the age of 15, leaving her sister Molly all alone. I worried she'd be lonesome so I adopted a kitten to keep her company. Being high-energy, as kittens are, Squeaky (see Nutso in the avatar) would take running passes at Molly, trying to get Molly to chase her. Fun fun fun. Not for Molly.

One day, again, here comes Squeaky. Out goes Molly's paw, sending Squeaky head over heels (or is that paw over paw?). I swear to this day that I saw a grin on Molly's face! My solution was to get a kitten for the kitten, hence Rudy. Then I got Rudy a kitten, Baby Peeps. The trend stopped there. ALL are inspectors and each has their own bed in my sewing room.

As for your cuty, a.k.a. Evil, my Molly was not attached to my hip bone as was her sister Polly. Evil sounds like he's really attached to you. If he's only a couple of years old, and still active (looks like), a kitten just might provide him with a playmate for all that energy. But, you may end up with a very jealous big boy. Best of luck!
