Oh, my, since reading this I am trying to decide if some of this is quirky or just makes sense. LOL I do walk to the potty in the middle of the night with my eyes closed as much as possible, don't turn on any lights either!! I think it is in protest. You make me go, but you can't make me wake all the way up to do so!! Cans sorted and labels out, it only makes sense. My kids say I am a hoarder, but they are hard pressed to say I don't know what I have or where it is. There is a method to my maddness. Where I put things have to make sense, as my memory is not good. Not good at all!! OH, yes shower duties are all in the RIGHT order. Wash hair, apply cream rinse, start with the face, neck ears, and work down. Feet last. Who wants to wash their fact with a cloth that has been in the "neather regions". LOLOLOL!! And my DGS sleeps with his eyes open. It is creepy.

I have the (good) habit of always using my turn signal, when I turn. I even (automatically) do it, when I pull out of my parking spot (behind the house), into my own driveway . . . and after I come home, when I pull back into my parking spot, from my own driveway. Yes, it makes me feel silly . . . but I just can't help myself.

Speaking of glasses... I'm not sure if I disclosed this quirk of mine or not... I can't wear my glasses when I go to the bathroom. I have no idea why but they bother me (yes, even if I'm only going pee pee). That's weird, right?
I don't know if it's weird, but I've never experienced it. I personally get foggy headed without my glasses and that makes me dizzy and disoriented so I only take them off for bed.
I do know ppl, adults and children that can't wear clothes when they use the loo.
That must certainly take up some time!

I can't imagine once you've mentioned it to them, that they don't want to go turn their clothes right side out!
(I do hope this isn't bc it didn't go through the washer since they wore it )

My cans of food also has to face forward, and organized together, veggies together, soup, etc. Maybe not quirky but it makes since. My knives in my drawers have to go a certain way and I'm always going back in and fixing them when someone else puts them away.
I always push my chair in when I get up from a table/desk and it drives me crazy when people leave it out. At work I'm always pushing the desk chairs back in out of the way and at a resturant I do the same thing. At a restuarant I stack my dishes and pick up any paper from straws, etc to make it easier for waitress to clean up later. After yrs of programming my kids do the same thing.
I guess that's about it. I think I'm too lazy to be to quirky about to many things. I'm not a neat-nick by any means but when I do something I want it done right or what's the use.

my husband thinks it's crazy that I use the signal to turn into our driveway when no one is coming and my response is:

I think I left the impression that I'm weird (hey... nothing from you in the Peanut Gallery!). I don't take showers -- only baths. I wash my face first but not with a washcloth. I just soap up my hands (with special face goo) & wash my face with that. Then I start washing my body (at my feet). But I kinda skip around & let's just say "below the waist" is last. Then the washcloth goes in the hamper (I only use a towel & washcloth once). So please don't think I wash those "places" & then use that same wash rag on my face. Ick! I'm a weird-o but I'm not a sick-o.

My knives have to be put away "correctly" also... one goes one direction, the next goes upside-down. It's the same theory I use with my towels.

I can't stop laughing at this. Now -- to add to my quirks....and to enforce the washcloth issue. I worked in a nursing home. The head nurse, while training us, brought up the issue "do you wash the groin or the feet first"...think about it. NEITHER place would I want to wash 2nd!!!! If you wash your feet first, then anything you may have stepped on would now be on your groin......Get the picture????? SOOOO, my quirk -- I use 2 washcloths at every shower. GADS, I didn't know I was so quirky until this thread was started!!!!

OMgeeeeeee.....( I obsessively have to say 'gosh' every time I type these letters. i do feel some of the 'umph' may be lacking by not using the 'secular' phrase, lol, but I don't want to be struck by lightning )....
it's official, a.gramma,...our brains definitely run in the same circles.
Every time I scrub, I silently agonize about the fact that although the washrag is super soapy, I hate where it's been when I scrub my feet, so I have to re-soap them after I throw the rag on the floor of the shower and try to scrub my feet over it!
I rinse the washrag and hang it to dry, soon to be in the bleach laden washer, but it's definitely icky-ew-nasty-exiled for the duration at that point.
I also have one of those hand held shower thingies that you can "pressure wash" certain body parts with before delving into the dark crevices, LOL (how's that for a visual!)
Many years ago I had the same training, and for what it's worth, bless their hearts...it ain't baby poop!

Sure glad you set us straight about your 'washing order', lol...it got me to wondering who all I have hugged that might not be doing it, LOL, correctly
I'll wash my face with a clean washcloth and hang it over the top of the shower for later use, but if it stays there overnight I won't use it anymore

Hang on to your hats... my DH will use any wash rag in the bathroom... mine, his, whoever! I mean... wha?????? One time I even caught him using a rag from the kitchen! No, I won't use any that have been hanging around overnight. That's why I own 48596 washcloths!

Y'all are just too funny! I take showers. When I was younger, I took baths . . . but I would shower first. Never could understand how people could get into a bath (dirty), then expect to be clean, after sitting in the dirty water. Ewwwwww!

I just never could figure out how to get bubble bath to work in the shower... LOL! But I rinse off with the shower after I get done soaking in the tub.

Wow! I just read through it all...... kinda feeling like an odd one out here lol. So here goes for this gal.
I eat cob across. I can't stand to have an organized silverware drawer (seriously, my dh bought one of those silverware trays when we were first married and put everything in place all neat...... first thing I HAD to do was dump it out and mix it all up!) We have a seperate drawer for sharps, handles all going one way to avoid cuts. I open bananas from the bottom, just pinch and pull it's so much easier! I hate PB& J but I love peanut butter and butter All of our socks go into a bin (actually 3 one for each of us). Only DH and DS's are matched. I make a point to ensure mine are always mis-matched, no clue why though. Laundry is just thrown in the wash, whatever is grabbed is what gets cleaned. Everything goes in the dryer, except bras they are just to expensive to ruin! When I get really sleepy my head twitches, like something fell across the room and you look fast but completely unconcious and uncontrollably. I can't stand for anyone to touch my nose. I have to rub it if they do with the center of my right palm.... I know wierd right?!?! I snort when I laugh really hard. I do the eyebrow raise thing when my DS in trouble but he ruined the effect lol He made it into a game now we go 1-2-3 and whoever gets their eyebrow up first wins! It's like a pistol draw but funnier for onlookers, yup we do it in the grocery line while waiting for our turn, it's quite a hoot I can't stand to go to bed angry.... ever.... I will seriously wake up DH just to resolve whatever ticked me or him off and keep him up until it is! I'm sure there is more but that's all I can think of! Does this qualify me as quirky or rubber room ready?!?!?!?

I can't STAND to have anyone watch me sleep. I don't think I've been able to take a nap since I was a kiddo! I've already told my family that they better not have an open casket viewing after I'm gone. I will definitely come back to haunt them!!

tee hee hee...we gotta be some clean people!
We pay attention to detail (s), lol,...that's why we are wired for quilting
bq...just shaking my head at your dh, lol.
My dh and my dson-i-l are the two cleanest men I know. If either of them breaks a sweat, into the shower they must go,...over and over! I'm not complaining either.
I've known men that had to be threatened with bodily harm to get them to bathe and all I can say is: ewww!

Just replace the toilet paper if you use the last on the roll! That's all I ask in my house!

I can relate to a lot of what you are all saying, so theses can't be quirks, just very smart quilters!, LOL!
